I feel that earth bending is the most powerful form of bending in the entire show. what do you all think?

NO WAY! Water is waaay better. It's much more versitile than Earth. It's easier to move, which makes it faster and is avaliable in almost any cercumstance. Earth benders are completly useless on the ocean, at either of the poles, and in a metal box (Toph not included, she is after all the only metal bender). Water can be both a solid and a liquid, you can reach around with it and slame it into someone. Earth can only be slammed. Water is the ultimate element!

What about lava/magma, it is nothing more than molten rock.
Glass is nothing more than crystallized silica sand, and even it is said that metal is nothing more than refined rock (S02E19 - crossroads of destiny) therefore all transition metals in the periodic table go in that category. besides what do you think is on the bottom of the ocean floor? plastic? even if you don't see it, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist (the episode titled Jet in season 1).
Even sand is just loosened rock, thus having a more fluid like consistency
Oh, and there's iron in blood, therefore earth benders can control the human body also.
Therefore Earth-bending is the strongest.

Only one, one earth-bender has been able to bend metal, and she does it with great difficulty in a way that she does not bend regular earth. Judging by the fact that it takes a full moon for a water bender to bend blood, and blood is mostly liquid, I sincerly doubt an Earth bender could bend it using the partial amount of Iron in a person's blood. Not to mention in the Avatar world they'ld have no way of knowing it was there. And if the average earth bender could bend the earth on the bottom of the ocean, then having a prison in the middle of the ocean for Earth benders is pointless. In addition, have you ever seen an Earth bender bend magma? Even if they can, and there is almost no way that they can, they are not able to turn regular rock into it's liquid form or visevisa unlike waterbenders. I rest my case.

Well that is an educated and intellectual response. Let me give a rebuttal of equal value.
Shut Up. Water Bending Kicks As*! Earth bending is for meat heads who are so busy trying to lift the rock they don't notice they are being choked to death by a beautifully performed water bending move.
Sorry, i think that was to much, let me try again.
Shut Up! Water Bending is Awesome. Earth bending is for meat heads and water bending is for grabbing and ripping stuff.

Why? Water is so much cooler, and much more beutiful in fighting. Not to mention that waterbenders can heal themselves, so they are way beter then any oher benders. Aaaand the Water Tribe is the onlt nation not to be overrun by the fire nation. What happened to the Earth nation again? FAIL!

i choose to agree to disagree with both of you. while water is more versetil and abundant, and earth is more about brute force. i feel that in a battle of power you should look at what is the most destructive and violent force. in this case i think fire is strongest. sorry.  |

........ actually if you watched chapter 13 in book 3 fire bending isnt really about violence and destruction at all.... its about beauty and otha stuff lol i still say it's earth babie!!!!!

but fire can be if used that way. it is not ment to be violent and destructive. but is used in anger and fueled by rage it is very much so. earth is strong but i feel fire is stronger.
