she does not have the stonicism of a monk. i don't know that she is an airbender. but anything could be possible.

I think it is quiet possible that she is. Think about it. She can stand on her finger tips, she has the light hearted spirit of and Air Bender, and she defies gravity every episode we see her in. We have never seen Ty Lee's family though we do know that she has six sisters that are just like her. And although she was raised in the Fire Nation who knows? She could be a distant relative. Also, random but true, Ty Lee has the same eye color as Aang (gray), which is known to only be true in Air benders.

In the Avatar trading card game, there is a card called Afiko the Betrayer. He is an Air Nomad that aided greatly to the Air Nomad genocide by the fire nation. Here is some information on him:

"Afiko grew jealous when his peers announced Aang's identity as the Avatar. Envious, he turned traitor and revealed the temple's location to the Fire Nation. They stormed the temple and slaughtered the other monks, but were too late to catch Aang, who had run away from home shortly before. Afiko was instrumental in engineering the genocide of his fellow Air Nomads, earning a place as Fire Lord Sozin's close adviser. He also seems to have aided Sozin in attacking the Earth Kingdom due to the fact that he is often shown blocking or dispersing Earth bending attacks and attacking Earth benders. The traitorous monk died long before Aang's return, and the subsequent undermining of all Afiko's work. In the end, despite his loyalty and achievements towards the Fire Nation, history records indicate that Afiko met his demise in the War's fifth year, when Fire Lord Sozin had him executed as a traitor. "

So that could be where Ty Lee gets her Air genes from.

Sorry guys and girls but Ty Lee is not an air bender she is merely using a form of Jujitzu. She is a non bender like Sokka.

I know I said Airbender in my last post, but I didn't mean to. I know she isn't an Airbender, as phenixgod pointed out, but I do believe that she is part Air Nomad.

There is no way she is an airbender (although it would be really cool if she was). There is, however a possibility that she will aventually be good.

How much do you love Tylee's puppydog pout after she relizes that it's not a game and people are really going to die? Not to mention, i thought May would do something like that (although i thought she'ld do something a little more smart) but who knew Tylee cared about May more than she feared Azula? Although the creaters really screwed it up because with the skill both May and Tylee have demonstrated in the past they should have easily escaped, or at the very least gone down with more of a fight.
