right we know that the comet makes all the firebenders uber pwrful but honestly it must do something special. just wanted to see what other ppl think.

My theory on it as that it is believed that Sozin's Commet will enhance the firelord's abilities, but I do not know how.

the commet comes close to the earth then the sun and gives them more fire power until it leaves

A comet is a ball of rock and gas that is aflame. I think that the tail of the comet is sort of like the sun for fire benders. It super charges their natural fire bending ability (like the full moon does for waterbenders). I think that the comet will increase the fire nations bending strength and their abilities. Possibly allowing even weaker benders to use master bending abilities during the comets reign.

I think Sozin's comet will be destroy I was thinking the same thing. Aang could go Avatar(if he can) and destroy the comet so nothing like this happens agian. |

This is a little off topic but, Ive always been wondering. If a comet is made out of Ice and dirt, how does it give FIREbenders power?

maybe due to the ability to become explosive. the outside of comets are pure hydrogen and hydrogen is combustable. maybe they use the hydrogen to make more explosive firebending.
