There is a romur floating around that one of the new episodes is called "the southern raiders" and it is supposed to focus on what happened to Katara's and sokka's mom. i want to know how she dies and if there is any chance she survived.

Totally, but we really don't know that much about her, and Katara's image of her mother is somewhat glorified in that she is probably unable to remember her clearly. I wonder if she had any quicks that we don't know about.

my guess is either aang or zuko, since they obvoiusly dont know much about her past, or maybe toph does.

It might be something Toph would ask. Aang wouldn't b/c he knows how touchy Katara is, and Zuko wouldn't presume to ask a question that might make Katara kill him, but Toph is just right to work.
