Fire Nation Prison

As we fought about 7 men grabbed me. I was both scared and wanting to laugh. It took 7 men to hold me down! But then i saw the general, he had Kai with a knife to her throat. Then I heard the general say,"Get the other one," to his son.

The boy walked over and started to tie me up. For some reason he started to introduce himself, " Hi, i'm Lee Shang." He said this in a whisper so only i could hear.

I blushed hard. "I'm Na Jin, But you can call me Jin." I could not believe i had said that.

He just smiled at me and whispered,"you are a very good swords man." I blushed deeper until he was done tieing me up. I saw Kai with a cut at her throat. It was not deep but I still cried at the sight.

"Help me take the prisoners to the holding cell." Lee said to a guard next to him. Know Kai and I were also prisoners but maybe we will get out with a little help.

I grabbed Jin by the ropes on her back side and said “lets go” to the fire nation guard. As we exited the room and started walking down the hall way… I look at Jin an Kai in a kind with a smile on my face… Jin blushed…. and continued to blush until I turn my head back to look in front of me.

About half way down the hall I whisper into Jin’s ear “when I tap your should get behind me” She fell don’t to her knees with a face so red it looked like a tomato… after I helped her back to her feet she nodded her head at me in acknowledgment that she understood. Kai saw that I whispered something in her ear and she thought to herself “what are they talking about… did he threaten her?”.

When we reach the cell I told the guard to put Kai in first… as he started to walk her in I took him out so fast he had no clue what happened…. As well as the two guards that followed behind us from a distance… As I’m untying Jin she jumps at me and hugs me… as I’m standing there with this girl wrapped around my body I am completely shocked… all I cloud think of was to hug her back so I did. After she let go I walked to Kai to untie her and I noticed there where tears rolling down Jin’s face… tears of joy.

I was so happy he was helping that I hugged him. To my surprise he hugged me back. I had to start cring because of 2 reasons. 1. he was on our side 2. he did it for me!

He moved to help Kai, who right know was looking at me funny. I had to giggle at her face. But she took it wrong and i knew she would talk to me later about this boy lee.

I had to ask like always,"So, what's the plan?"

Natually, I was suspicious of the fire nation boy. Jin's obvious flirting was making me nervous. If he betrayed her and she got to attached, she would be broken. Unable to focus and therefore unable to fight.

So I, unsucessfully, tried to warn the boy that if he messed with Jin he'd have to answer to me.

I don't know if he got the message, but he ended up taking out the guards that led us to the prison cell.

A sour look crossed my face as Jin hugged the nameless boy. Her trust in him so soon after they met made me anxious.. trust was so fragile-

"So what's the plan?"

Shaking off my discomfort and clearing my thoughts of Jin and the fire nation boy, I untied my urumi from my waist and gathered my Sai from the guards who confiscated it. I grabbed Jin's weapons as well and handed them to her before responding.

"Plan? To get out of here," I kept my face cold, solid as ice, and took off down the corrider back the way we came. Jin followed me on instinct and the boy whose name I still did not know followed behind her.

"Do you know where you are going?" Jin asked mid-run, opening one of her many waterskins.

"When do I ever? I'm winging it," I looked back and her and grinned. The expression on her visage matched my own in an instant. Laughing at some inside joke, we continued our mad dash through the halls.

General Shang paced in frustration. Two waterbenders in his prison? And so young.. it confused him and he did not like being confused.

He saw them fight. The younger one obvious perferred bending, but the older one specialized in close combat. Versitile with weapons.. hmm..

He stopped so suddenly, cursed under his breath, and bolted from the room.

His name was Lee, age 14, a firebender, and falling for Jin. I found out all of this out in the few minutes we spent running around with only our memories as a map. How Jin and Lee could have a conversation in the midst of all of this confusion, I'll never know.

Turning a corner that I hadn't taken before I was prepared to find an exit. To my misfortune I was met with a pair of golden eyes and a glowing fist. I stopped so suddenly, Jin and Lee crashed into me ungracefully. We all stumbled, long enough to be put into cuffs by the officers coming at us from behind.

General Shang smiled smugly at us, before glaring at his son. If a stare could kill...

"Officers, please escort my son to my office. I'll deal with him there. Make sure he doesn't escape or it will be on your heads." Two guards scampered off with Lee in tow. I didn't miss the gaze he sent Jin. And she didn't either. Tears streamed down her face, staining her cheerful and optimisitc appearance.

"You caught us," I stated the fact, hoping that he would give me information if I got him talking.

"And you tried to escape," he replied, waving off my comment with a flick of his wrist. "I've thought about what you said. How you came to save your colleague, your friend. And I'm willing to make a deal."

"I'm listening," I responded, making Jin dumbstruck beside me. I ignored her open stare as the general continued.

"I have a weakness for gambling," he continued, and I became aware of how wolfish his teeth looked when he smiled. "A game."

"A game?" Jin and I asked in unison.

"A game," he replied.

I don't know why i could talk at a time like this but i did. Something in his eyes made every thing disappeared into thin air."So, Lee is a nice name."

"Lots of people have it, but Jin is so rare." He said smoothly. I had to blush it was to much. "So how old are you?" He asked nicely.

"13. How old are you?" I asked hoping he was near my age.

"I'm 14," he said. He said it like he was happy of his age....or mine. "So your a water bender."

It wasn't a question but i answered anyway. "Yes i am. And your a firebander right?"

He hesitate a little then unproudly said,"yes i am."

I was sad i made him sad."That's cool. Think you could show me some time?" He instantly became happy.

"Sure! I would love to," He said. I giggled at what he said. "I mean love to show you fire bending. Yeah That's what i meant."

Then we ran into Kai. And before I knew it I was cuffed. Then I heard the general say,"Officers, please escort my son to my office. I'll deal with him there. Make sure he doesn't escape or it will be on your heads." My heart sank as I watched him get takin away and I started to cry quietly.

I wasn't paying much attention, i did give Kai a stare but that was all until the general said, "A game."

Together Kai and I asked, "A game?"

"A game," he replied.

As the guards took me to my father room I had a lot to think about… i knew if i helped those girls it would be an act of betrayal to my country and dishonor to my family. The deeper we walk down the hall way my thoughts all so became deeper… I was trapped in a unavoidable battle inside my mind… before I knew it I was in my fathers room with guards standing out side the door. I walked over to a chair to sit down.
As I sat down I thought some more on what I could do to help save them girls… I am tired of the fire nation hurting people I am ashamed of being apart of this nation! I will do everything in my power to help fight against the fire nation. After I made up my mind I sat and waited on my father.

"What type of game?" I asked, interested. The man had a weakness for gambling and from what I could tell he didn't lose often. Maybe, just maybe, Jin and I could win his game AND get En rang free.

Maybe we'd get lucky.

"A game of speed, of wits, and of determination," the General spoke with confidence. "A game of you two against the clock."

"Go on."

"We race to your friend's cell. Whoever gets there first wins."

"But you know where his cell is. This is your prison. We'd never win."

"True. But I'll give you a chance. His cell number is A587."

I looked to my right, at the nearest cell. The number was N345. En rang was on the opposite side of the prison. My heart fell.

"That's on the other side of the prison. We'd never beat you. You know every hallway and every tunnel. You have an advantage," I tried to keep my voice neutral, but at the same time accusing. Pressuring him to play fair.

"True. I do have an advantage. But you forgot," he smiled evilly in Jin's direction, "that I must deal with my son first. That could take a couple minutes or several hours. All depending if he tries to fight back."

Jin's composure broke again, ugly tears ran down her face. Her voiced raised in volume as she yelled at him.

"You'd hurt your own SON?! What kind of man are you, you ba-" a guard clamped her mouth shut, and then tied a handchief around her mouth so she could no longer speak verbally. With her eyes she spoke volumes.

I looked at her, pleading her to keep calm for both our sakes, before continuing.

"How would we know how long we had left?" I asked the general, trying to pull his attention from Jin. Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared for it. He grinned, flashing his teeth, and said.

"That's the thing, you won't."

I gulped.

"Fair enough. The prize? If I win?" I recognized that this was our only shot, at least there would be a chance to get En rang, Jin, and I out alive. If we were arrested, we would be goners.

"If you win. I'll let you two and your friend go free."

"And if you win?" I dreaded this answer.

"Simple, you become my captives and your friend is executed," he said it so offhandly I almost didn't get the gravity of what he said.

"What?!?" I cried. Jin looked just as shocked as me, but was refrained from saying anything due to the fabric against her mouth.

"Well, he is scheduled for execution soon anyway.." I choked down tears as General Shang spoke, " So you have nothing to lose. The only chance you have of saving him is participating in my game."

He smiled smugly, triumphately even. I reviewed what he said in my head, looking for loopholes, for tricks that could come later...

"And your guards? Will they attack?"

"Well, I'll tell every guard I come into contact with to let you run. But I can't guaruntee the ones by your friend's cell will get the memo in time."

Meaning we would have to fight as well. Great. The chance of winning this game was slim...

"Okay. You've got a deal. We'll play your game."

But slim was better than none.

"Okay. You've got a deal. We'll play your game." I looked at Kai like she was crazy. I hated being gagged. But that's what I get for having a big mouth. The men let us out in the halls still in ropes and I was still gagged. We luckily had our weapons so we could get out of this mess.

"Jin, help!" I heard someone say. I looked around only Kai. She didn't even look up. She finished untying herself and started helping me. “Jin, Help me!” I didn’t see him but I knew it was Lee that time.

“Kai did u hear Lee just know?” I asked when she was done.

“No. Are you ok Jin?” she asked putting her hand to my head as we ran.

“No. I think I am hearing Lee calling for help.” I remembered her telling me the same thing when En rang was captured. That’s how we got into this mess.

“No, Jin we can’t look for him know ok maybe later.” She said. I guess she remembered to.

“I was not thinking that.” I wasn’t but now I am. Maybe just maybe he will be alright.

“HELP ME JIN!!!!!”

Master Emerald, it's great that you want to join but we have established characters already. I'm not sure how we could add the new character in.. but if there is an oppurtunity I'll tell you. If you want to join immediately, you can be either the General (villian) or En rang (my character's love interest).

And because its been so long since any part of this role-play has been posted.. I'll get right to it! Enjoy!

The guards escorted Jin and I out into the hallway, left us in a crumpled heap, and left to return to the General. Reaching to where my sai was hidden, I twisted my hand so the blade would cut the ropes that were binding me. After finishing with myself, I reached over to Jin, who seemed to be lost in thought.

As I finished, Jin spoke up.

"Kai, did you hear Lee just now?" We got up and began to run in the direction away from the General.

"No... Are you okay, Jin?" I reached over and put my hand on her head, measuring her temperature. Could she have developed a fever? The prison wasn't very clean, so germs would be plentiful. If she caught a bug-

"No. I think I am hearing Lee calling for help," I turned to look at Jin. Her face was pale and premature worry lines creased her forehead. I was reminded of myself all of those weeks ago, when En rang was first captured...

"No, Jin we can't look for him now. Ok? Maybe later."

My heart broke at her expression, missing altogeter what she mumbled in response.. I was inches away from apologizing and turning around to help the General's son, but I didn't. En rang was more important then this boy we had only met a couple minutes ago. En rang was up for execution! Surely the General wouldn't kill his own son, so he had time left. I stole a glance at Jin. At that moment, I made a promise to myself. And to Jin.

After En rang was free, I would do anything in my power to save Lee.

Clearing my mind I observed my surroundings once again. Numbers rushed past as Jin and I continued to run. G246... G278...

We had made progress! I smiled to myself, confident for the first time that we might actually win this "game." That was until I spotted the dead end ahead.

"Darn!" I cursed under my breath. I spotted a large tunnel coming up and made to take the turn, when I stopped in my tracks. Jin crashed into me with a small "yelp" sound. I spun around, grabbed Jin, placed a hand over her mouth, and hid behind the corner in one fluid motion. I motioned for Jin to stay quiet as I tried to listen.

I had spotted a couple guards just around the corner.

Poking my head around again, I mentally counted how many there were.

Two.

Only two guards were visible down the hallway. I started forming a plan almost immediately. Jin looked at me expectantly, recognizing the scheming look on my face. Grinning, I whispered the plan into her ear.

This was going to be easy.
