Millions celebrating... or off being mad, as the first African american president sits in the oval office.
And Admin Blood, I'd like to add a few more details if you don't mind? ~admin
Unfortunately for Mccain supporters, the polls were not close. The electoral college votes were 163 to 349.
And so Democratic Senator Barack Obama became president yesterday. Eventhough there are still two or three states left to give the polls in, all the presidential nominee needs is 270 electoral votes to win, and that was determined yesterday.
The reason this election is so historical is not only because Barack Obama was the first African-American to run and win the Presidential election, but if John Mccain were elected then he would've been the oldest nominee to be elected as President (on his first term). Also, Sarah Palin become the first Vice Presidential candidate in history.
So yes, this election would have been a very big deal, no matter who won.
