Aang was sitting beside the lake with the full moon above him, deep in thought. He thought about Katara, and the kiss they had shared during the invasion.
“What if she only likes me as a friend?” he thought to himself.
“Then again she would’ve withdrawn when I kissed her” He thought again.
“Why does life have to be so complicated?!” he shouted.
“Of course life is complicated during the middle of a full-scale war, what do you expect!” Toph shouted, interrupting Aang’s thoughts.
“Toph! You really shouldn’t just yell when other people are in the middle of thinking!” Aang exclaimed.
“Sorry, Twinkletoes, I’m just saying, during the middle of a war, people don’t run around each day having parties and giving presents.” Toph claimed.
“Well, my problems aren’t exactly related to war.” Aang admitted.
“What are they about then?” Toph interrogated.
“Well they are about something else.” Aang muttered.
“Spit it out then, Twinkletoes.” Toph yelled.
“Well, they’re about Katara.” Aang grumbled.
“What, is she bossing you around too much?” Toph assumed.
“No, no, not that.” Aang proclaimed.
“Then what is this thing about!” Toph yelled.
“Well, I sort of have this, umm, crush on Katara” Aang admitted. He could feel his face redden and was glad that toph couldn’t see it.
“That’s it? I thought you wouldn’t be telling me something I already knew!” Toph bellowed.
“You… already know?” Aang asked, completely profound.
“Of course, everytime you even get near Katara, your heart beats like a rattlesnake’s tail!” Toph stated.
“Oh… well I didn’t think it was that obvious.” Aang muttered. “Do you know if she, umm, likes me?”
“Oh well, I really haven't been paying attention to Katara.” Toph replied.
“Could you help me find out?” Aang asked
“Alright Twinkletoes, I’ll see what I can do.”
