Zutara One shot about two little girls taking down dear old dad.
The man ran after the two little girls. He looked very tired. But the day was not over; there was still so much stress to come.
The littlest one squeaked as the man caught up to her and scooped her up in his arms. “Got cha!” The words sounded only slightly playful; they were more triumphant than anything.
The little girl’s tongue rolled out of her mouth and she moaned. He eyes fell closed and she held her breath, playing dead. But after a mere eight seconds, her face turned red and after taking a quick peak to be sure that nobody was watching, she stole a hidden breath, then closed her eyes again, becoming a dead weight in her father’s arms.
The man shifted and threw the young girl over his shoulder and looked frantically for the other little girl who had disappeared into the crowd.
“Kana!” He heard a maniacal giggle and the flash of a pony tail whipping through the crowd. He ran after it, the little girl on his shoulder still ‘lifeless’.
The people around him were no help. It had started to rain and they were all trying to move to get under the shelter of the kiosk’s wooden roofs. He ran into many of them, and went through about ten, “I am so sorry”'s and “Oh no, my fault entirely”'s, before he saw her.
She was standing next to a kiosk with expensive looking hand bags from all four nations, and her hand was stretched out to a blue bag with fire stones covering it in intricate designs. She was so hypnotized by the bag that she did not see him until he was but a few yards behind her.
“Kana, you step away from that Kiosk.” He warned, stretching out his hand, willing her to take it. “Come on, let’s go.”
She looked at his hand, then at the bag. She looked at him again then rolled her eyes. He watched as her hand moved even closer to the bag.
“Kana, touch that bag and so help me I’ll—.” He was beginning his threat.
Her stance changed. One hand pointed, a finger forward and hovering directly above the bag, the other moved to hip. She smiled mischievously and her eyes narrowed.
“You’ll… what?” She threw a challenging glance in her father’s direction.
Zuko was amazed by his eldest daughter’s ability to suddenly become her mother. That is a very good question he answered her in his mind.
He watched as Kana’s eyes stole a glance behind him and then back. She smirked.
I’m done for was all Zuko could think. That was his smirk, and he was done for.
She stuck her hand under Zuko’s arm and gave Kana a ‘thumbs up’. Destiny winked at Kana from under Zuko’s arm. She sucked in air and then fake sneezed, lighting her fathers feet on fire.
Kana had stepped forward and froze a puddle of water behind her father's feet. Zuko swept Destiny down and took a step back, trying to put out the fire; stepping right into an ice death trap. He slipped and his feet flew out from under him. He landed hard on his back side.
Zuko just laid there as a whole new string of giggling came from both sides of him and he sighed.
He was going to have to teach Lu Ten to deal with these two when he got older, otherwise, he wouldn’t stand a chance.
