Chapter 1
Time Benders

The gang continued flying when a storm comes. Katara who is sitting on Appa’s head lightly shakes Aang to wake him from his nearly unconsciousness from his battle with Zuko and his sister.

“Aang wake up Aang” Katara said. She taps him gently and positions in an upright sitting position.
Aang replied “Yea Katara what’s wrong.” And hung over Appa’s saddle and looked at Appa and said “Appa looks really tiered.”
“Yea I know and theres a storm coming where should we go” Katara said. And then
Sokka called out from behind “How about that little town with al the cattle that much cattle means meat! He started to day dream about meat dancing around on his plate singing “Eat me I taste great”. He nearly falls off Appa when Toph grabs his sleeve and shouts “Cool it meat head”
“Hold on Toph see there’s a little town there” Sokka said by mistake
Toph was quick to reply “Yea its way over there isn’t it”
“Umm you’re blind” Sokka said realizing how stupid he sounded
“Oh really is that what it’s called” Toph murmured back to him
“Sorry” was all Sokka could say
The Earth king interjected “Yes landing there is a great idea and ill have them give us the best treatment.”
“That’s alright.” Aang and Katara said at the same time looking at each other for a mere second then looking the other way.
“Why” the Earth King ask
Katara said “We don’t want to attract too much attention”
Earth king said with puzzled look on his face “Ooooh
“Ill land here” Aang said pointing to the nearby village

Aang lands them in a small village near a cave at the bottom of a cliff within the outer wall. By that time it was pouring out but even in the heavy rain they where able to find some one to tell them where they where and where they can find shelter from the rain.

“Hey lets ask this guy for some help” Katara shouted to the rest of the gang who were slipping off Appa. Walking toward this bumish guy on the side of a barn under a canopy Aang and Katara water bended all the rain away getting them only a bit damp.” hey do you know where we could stay for the night” Aang asked the poor old man. And much to his surprise he shouted “Yea theres a” he hiccupped “and inn down the road down there” hiccups again “but stay away from the cave and thos” he hiccupped again “time benders they way up in the cave I wouldn’t want them to kill me of old age” Sokka responded to that with “You shouldn’t worry about old age right now worry about not getting drunk”. The old man turns and looks to Sokka and says “Shut it!”
“Time benders never heard of tem” Aang said quietly.
“He’s just delusional” Katara whispered to Aang.

So Aang and the gang went to the town nearby and when they arrived to much their surprise almost what looked like the whole town was out side doing daily chores. They walked form stand to stand looking for any thing they might need until Aang said “Hey guys I’m kinda getting tired of water bending all this water can we stop somewhere”.” Yea I’m starving” Katara said after.
They stopped at a small café where they started to take their seat. Aang pulled at seat out for Katara but the king took it and she sat next to her brother instead. Aang went and tried to lead Toph to another seat so he could sit next to Katara. “What are you doing twinkle toes and why” Toph whispered to Aang. “I want to sit next to Katara, is that ok.” “Yea, sure no problem but why.” Toph asked curiously. “I’ll tell you later.” Aang lead her to a seat next Sokka and pulled it out for her and took his seat next to Katara.
A waitress came to the table and handed out menus to everyone but looked at Toph and mouthed “Is someone gonna help her.” Katara stood up and move over to Toph and push Sokka to the seat she was sitting in and took his seat and said to Toph “I’ll read you the menu ok Toph.” “Why thank you Katara” looking in Aangs direction grinning laughably. Aang sticks his tongue out only to remember Toph’s blind. Katara reads the menu to Toph. “Let’s see they have pancakes, pies, and some kinda soup.” Toph cuts her off at soup “Ill have any kinda soup ya got.” The waitress goes around the table taking orders while the owner wearing a woven hat came over and greeted them. “Hello all what brings you to our little town.” “Oh we were flying by when” Aang cut Katara off and say “This storm kinda just snuck up on us.” “More like we flew into it and couldn’t get out” Katara cutting off Aang this time. “Oh well that’s too bad is there any thing we can do for the avatar in the city of rain.” Aang who was playing with his fork was suddenly interested in the conversation and cut in “What do you mean the city of rain” “Well it hasn’t stopped raining in over 200 years and we think its cause someone stole something from there cave long ago and never returned it and till this day the city has been cursed. But the local farmers and a few others stayed when it all began and we came to love the rain.” Aang getting ever more interested in this mans story asked “Where can we find the time benders?”
“Well the cave is right down the road but it’s blocked and there aren’t no earth benders in town.” The café owner said “Okay then after you guys finish eating and rest for awhile were going to the time benders cave” Aang said going up the inn part of the café.

The next day, they took a walk up to the cave. “Look there it is.” Aang pointed to a large slab of earth thrusted up it an opening in the cliff. “I'm going in alone” Aang stated as he earth bended his way though the large stone Toph helped out also.”I'm not letting you go in there by your self.”Katara told him. “Well I want to go by myself.” Aang finally opened a hole large enough to fit though and to his surprise the soaked torches weren’t needed because of a blueish glow.
Aang started to make his way into the cave and once he made it out of ear shot Katara said to the rest of the gang “I'm going in with him” and as she walked away the water bending the was keeping them dry was brought to an end leaving them soaked. Katara just realizing she was keeping them dry started to laugh at the thought of stranding them in the rain.
She continued to follow Aang till he came to a stop at the source of the blue light. A wall of still water with a reflective surface but you could tell there was something on the other side as if it was a doorway. Aangs eyes sparkled and Katara thought to herself how beautiful they were until she saw him getting closer to the wall. Worried for his safety she jumped out from behind her wall and pull him back saying “Are you crazy you don’t know what that is.” “I told you I wanted to go alone.”Aang said angrily. “Yea I bet” Katara said thinking to her self what am I doing I'm flirting with him he’s younger then I am it’ll never work out. “Here take my hand we’ll go though together” Aang said with total confidence. Katara put here hand out and held on tight to Aang. The walk towards the wall and step though Aang thinks to him self it’s gonna be fine.

Chapter 2
The Other Side

The day started out as any other day on this top secret military facility. It was nearly sun rise when a shadowed man in his office overlooking another room where experiments where done picks up the phone and calls some one. “Get every one up and down to the wall I have a feeling something’s going to happen.” He said and a voice on the phone replied “Right away sir!”
On the other side of the facility a man who goes by the name the boss gave him is sleeping in a hammock. His room was a mess but one wall looked as if displayed with honor. There on the wall was a medal for best achiever from an air force dog fighting School. It read: John Tomson Recognized for his reliability and courage in the air. Nearly the entire wall was cover by medals with similar inscriptions and pictures of himself and another man next to a jet with there names along the sides. The man is awaken by an alarm and orange flashing lights. He jumps out of his hammock and fumbles to get dressed. As he’s nearing the door a voice says over an intercom system “WILL ALL PERSONAL WORKING THE GENISIS PROJECT REPORT TO THE ENTRANCE TO SECTION RA53.”
The man now rushing though the door. He run towards a line of other men all rushing in the same direction he’s heading. He waits for the line to pass and follows until they reach section RA53.
Inside this room was the most important and fundament project for the military research facility. Within the room they have been developing a device that will allow time travel. at the current time the device is up and running. Testing is still in progress.
The door opens too reveal a blue wall with ripples gliding across the surface which is the only light source in the room leaving the rest dark. The sloppy man walks though first follow by two on either side of him. He walks to the middle of the room and turns around. He looks up at a balcony just above the door he previously walked though.
A shadowy figure appears over the door. Barely visible the man on the balcony say to the soldier “Sergeant Joe Enders” the young man nods his head. “At ease.’ “Our computer has reason to believe that last night someone or something on the other side has come though. And has trapped it in between our world and the other side.” He pauses and clears his throat then continues “I want you to let to let it though and check that harm can become of this. Is that clear?” “Yes sir.”
Sgt. Enders turned and faced the two men that had followed him in.”Weapons at your side.” He said in a strong voice. The two men turned on there heals and walk to the wall. They each push on one of the metallic tiles that decorated the wall and instantly two of the large tiles spilt, revealing five of the standard issued guns. They each took one, loaded it, and put the safety on before returning to the exact spot on the floor they stood just before.
Sgt. Enders walked to the same wall and pushed three different tiles in an order making it hard to remember. One of the metallic floor tiles lifted out of the ground before him to reveal a monitor and keyboard. He typed something in and when he had finished the computer sank into the ground.
The blue walls tiny ripples became more and more frequent. The water like wall began to change colors slightly. There was a slash and something had fallen out of the wall and laid on the ground motionless. The wall returned to a calm state where only the ripples on the surface let you know that its moving.
Sgt. Enders rushes over to the lumps and pulls them apart. Now holding Aang upright he shouted over his shoulder “They need medical attention now!” The door slams open and three men rush in with medical equipment. Enders starts to do CPR on Aang. Aang coughs up water and with out warning jumps up and falls over in confusion. Sgt. Enders and his men back away as do the medical team. Aang looks around and sees Katara on the floor behind him. “Katara” he shouts. Theres no answer. He turns over and crawls over to her. “Whats wrong with her.” He yelled. Enders shouts back at him. “Theres water in her lungs.”
Aang looks at her and quickly say “Ill save you.” With tears in his eyes he starts to do CPR on her. She coughs up the water in her lung. But still she remained motionless. Aang now crying so hard the men are no longer keeping there distance. Enders come up next to Aang and says to him in a hushed voice “This isn’t where you want to be right now.” Crying over his lost friend he hugs her lifeless body and kisses her cheek. “I'm sorry Katara.” He said as Enders picked him up to his feet and started walking him out.
The shadowed man who was watching the young boy with the odd tattoo he said to Enders before he left “Set him up in a guest room.” “Right away Sir” Enders responded
