Is There a Happy Ending After All
(Part 2)
Written by: Keoshiwarrior376
As the day went on, Aang and Appa flew over the fire nation then soon over part of the Earth kingdom. Then as morning went to noon, then soon to night, they arrived to a part of the earth kingdom known as the Islands. Night grew over the sky and Appa and Aang finally made it home. They landed on an island called the Big Northern Island. They walked quietly to a little house by the shore. Aang put Appa outside with food and he continued inside. The lights were off and the house was dark. Aang creped in as softly as he could until someone turned on a light…Aang froze in place…he was caught.
“You know by now that you can’t sneak in without me knowing.” laughed Toph silently. She was sitting by a table with two cups of tea on the table, all hot and ready. Toph shook her head back and forth still laughing. As she did Aang walked over to the table to have some tea too.
“I know that you had a big trip today, because you left pretty early this morning.” Aang’s eyes grew huge. “Did she know?” thought Aang.
“Where did you go anyway?” asked Toph. Aang knew by now that if he lied she would know.
“I’m sorry Toph but the business I’m doing right now is for no ears to hear.” answered Aang as politely as he could. She only nodded her head in agreement.
“That’s fine,” whispered Toph. The two of them sat there drinking their tea, feeling the warmth of the flavored water made Aang feel happy.
“So Toph how’s your dad doing?” said Aang, Toph’s smile that was on her face now switched to a frown.
“He’s not doing well at all. Aang he’s dyeing…and there’s nothing I can do about It.” said Toph with sadness in her heart.
“I’m sorry to hear that.” Aang replied.
“It’s just his time to go. That’s the way of life.” said Toph. The two of them finished their tea and headed off to bed. Toph had a room in the house by the door. Aang slept in a room right across it. They were the only ones living in the house…for now.
~Next day~
“BEEP…BEEP…BEEP…BEEP…BEEP BBBBBBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPP!”
Lights everywhere were flashing. The whole building was loud and bright. An alarm was making its alarm for the warning. The prison was in LOCKDOWN! Guards were guarding every door that was an exit. Every cell was closed, locked, and secure. Only one cell was opened that cell had guards everywhere, that cell was the cause of the lockdown, that cell was Azula’s.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” yelled Azula at the top of her lungs! “Stop it! GET AWAY FROM ME!” The guards were around Azula. A doctor was at her side. She was being held down from a harness so that the doctor could give her, her medicine. Azula hated this with all her heart! The doctor had the needle and put it into Azula’s skin. A few moments later it was done and the lockdown was over. Azula was let go, and free to roam her cell now. The doctor and the guards left, and Azula was just sitting there trying to think of ways to get get back at him for what he had done.
~Later On~
After an hour passed a stranger had came to the door of Azula’s cell. The stranger wore a deep blue cloak that had a hood, which covered his face. This was the same person like before. The stranger didn’t have to say anything to be let in. Slowly, he came in and took off his hood so Azula could see who the visitor was.
“So Azula…how are you?” asked Aang. Azula smiled to the familiar face.
“Well it’s prison, how great is it supposed to be?” said Azula. Aang laughed. “She does have a good point” thought Aang.
“May I ask you a question?” asked Aang. She motioned her head of the meaning of ‘’yes.’’
“What was the whole lockdown for?” Azula rolled her eyes and gave a big sigh.
“The doctor came; he came for my usual medicine time. You know the medicine that helps me to not be crazy.” said Azula with anger in her voice. Aang only nodded his head, as he was listening. “Ya that whole lockdown was because of me. Ok now I’m going to ask you a question.” Aang nodded in agreement. “Why did you come last time just to say a few words and then leave?” asked Azula. Aang gave a little smile; he was waiting for her to ask that question for a while.
“I came last time to let you know that there is someone out there in the world who wants to help you.” said Aang.
Wow. That was the only word that ran through Azula’s head at the time. Wow, as in someone actually cares for me. Aang smiled back at Azula. “Also I wanted you to Think. Think about your past, your future, and the present today. So that you can realize what you have done and learn from it. So that one day you can get out of here and live a real life.” Aang said. She had never thought it that way before. “Maybe this could help me, so that I may live free again.” thought Azula. Soon Aang said his good-byes and left the prison. After many hours of flight he made it home once again.
