Is there supposed to be a book 4: Air? As far as I knew, Book of Fire was supposed to be the last, right? Besides...each of these books is about him learning a new element... but he already knows air. Some people have been talking about book of air, but I was pretty sure fire was confirmed as the last one. Anybody got any details on this?

well, to me, it depends on 1 - the laziness of the writers and 2 - how the story goes.

It has been confirmed that this is the last season of Avatar. They stop after fire. They confirmed this in many interviews as well as at the Comic Con.
Now, we have the movies after the show is over.
As well as the possibilty of another series in the avatar universe. Bryan, at Comic Con I believe, said that they want to explore the Avatar universe more. Meaning they have more ideas. But this new series will have a new plot and brand new characters.
No Aang. No Zuko. Their storyline ends after Book Fire.
Its sad but true.. and I'm glad they aren't going to extend it. It could make the show bad if they tried to create a Book Air. Stopping while they are in first is better. Leaving us with the best episode possible is what I want. Not some bad continuation.

Yeah, but the problem is so many of the episodes have been fillers, that the story itself seems so short....makes you want more, you know?

You know they probably will do a book 4 onwhat their lives became like after the comet. And maybe if Katara and Aang get married. I don't really know, but I'm hopeful!

it seems that there is tons that could still be told. i hope that there well be a book 4
if the writers want it to be longer they well and if not the will stop it at book 3

There is a confirmed statement from Mike and Bryan (the creators) saying that Aang's story ends at Book 3: Fire.
Now if they make a Book 4 it will be new characters and a new plot.
(I have a feeling no one read my long post earlier but I suggest you guys read it)
