The gang arrives at the northern water tribe and find Master Paiku, the waterbending master, but he doesn't accept girls to train, which angered Katara greatly while Sokka falls in love with Princess Yue.
Meanwhile, Zhao and Zuko have both planned invasions to the northern water tribe, but Zhao decides to send pirates out and blow up Zuko's ship, fortunetaly not killing him.
Meanwhile, Aang and Katara resolve a way of getting Katara to learn, but Master Paiku decides to never teach Aang again after seeing his idea.
This resulted in a battle between Katara and Master Paiku, to which he discovered that Katara was wearing his necklace, and he let her learn from him.
