Book 1: Chapter 1 - The Boy In the Iceberg

Two siblings, Katara and Sokka, discover a boy frozen in an iceberg after Katara waterbends him out. They discover that the boy's name is Aang and that he is the avatar.
Aang and Katara, not under Sokka's supervision, are on a ship and set off a trap which releases a light.
Meanwhile, Zuko discovers a ray of light shooting up and assumes that the avatar is still alive, so he starts to head toward where he saw the light.

Nice summery. IYou shortened it but kept all the right details....unless you didn't do it, then i guess i could say, you found a great summery, either way it took some work.
