Is There a Happy Ending After All?
(Part 4)

The sky was dark like a blanket of black had covered the sky; the only light was the stars in the sky. Toph had already fallen asleep, but Aang was wide awake. This whole journey was to find his friends; he knew that Sokka and Suki were on Keoshi Island. He knew that Toph was with him, but Katara, he lost touch with her a long time ago because of him being the avatar. So the first stop was Keoshi Island. It would take about a day’s journey. So it wouldn’t be long.
Morning came and they were there at Keoshi Island. Toph was still asleep as they landed so Aang got up and woke her.
“Toph we’re here.” said Aang with a soft tone in is voice. Toph groaned then slowly opened her eyes.
“Are we there yet?” asked Toph. Aang nodded his head. She got up and looked around; she had never been to Keoshi Island so it wasn’t familiar as it was it was to Aang. They both got up and off of Appa. Aang put on his cloak with the hood, and covered his face.
“Aang why are you doing that?” said Toph.
“Because Toph there are girls here I know, but don’t want to deal with. Anyway it’s going to be a surprise to Sokka and Suki when they see us. The both of them walked around town trying to find the house the two were sharing. Finally they found it. Aang walked up to the door and knocked. A few seconds later the door was opened by a woman. It was Suki.
“Hello, how can I help you?” said Suki. Aang took off his hood and Toph came over to where Suki could see her. Suki’s face was shocked and so happy. “Aang…Toph oh it so good to see you all!” yelled Suki in excitement. Suki’s arms were around the both of them; she was hugging them so hard that they couldn’t breathe. Suki soon let them into the house. They walked in and they looked around. Sokka was at work right now and Suki was about to leave and get ready for training. But now that friends were there she stayed. Suki lead them to seats and they sat and talked. While they were talking Aang noticed a ring on Suki’s left hand. Aang just smiled to himself.
“So Suki when did it happened?” asked Aang. Suki was confused then she realized that Aang saw the ring.
“Oh last night, it was amazing. Sokka was so nervous before he asked though. It was so cute.” answered Suki. Toph tried not to roll her eyes. She was happy that Sokka and Suki were getting married but…She still liked Sokka, but that didn’t matter anyway she loved someone else. Even Aang doesn’t even know who he is. She started seeing this new guy ever since Aang was so busy with the avatar stuff. His name was Cong-Min which means intelligent. He was a guy her age 15. He was smart, funny and was just like her. He was perfect. He was tall and slender. His eyes were the color of the rain, his hair was long and short, it was the color of black coffee. Also he was an earth bender just like her. Toph fell for him at the first ‘’sight’’ of him. She loved him, but when he walked over to her to say ‘’hi’’ she froze. After that she met him more often and even talked. Last week was their first date out by the beach. Of course no one knew but it felt good to ‘’be loved again.’’
The three of them talked for hours catching up on life. Towards the night Sokka came back from work and was surprised to see his old friends. He was so happy that he hugged them all.
“Oh Aang, Toph, I have missed you all so much.” said Sokka as he hugged them again. They all sat down again and talked for some more. “Hey Aang I think you would be glad to know that Katara is coming over to visit for a while tomorrow.” said the man of the house, Sokka. Aang at the time was looking down at the floor but when he heard what Sokka said he looked up and a big smile went across his face; however, he tried to hide the smile to not show that he still cared for Katara. Sokka and Suki just smiled at each other, knowing that Aang loved Katara and missed her so much.
“She’s coming from fire nation.” said Suki. “She was visiting a friend, and now she is coming back to stay for a while, but I’m guessing she will go back home…to the southern water tribe.” ‘Oh’ was the only thing Aang could say. “Did she even know I was here? I’m guessing no.” thought Aang. Suki looked over to the sea and noticed that the sun was gone which meant it was late. “Well I’m going off to bed goodnight everyone.” said Sokka and Suki. Both Aang and Toph nodded also saying their goodnights. They went to their rooms they were given to sleep in from the new couple. Aang sat there in his bed looking up at the ceiling. He couldn’t stop thinking of Katara. What did she look like now? Did she have a lover now? Did she even know her was there at her brother’s house? Many confusing and unanswered questions filled his head. He thought to himself “I guess the only way to get any answers is to go to sleep.” Soon before he knew it he found himself falling asleep.
~Morning~
Morning was finally here! This was the day he would see Katara. Aang woke up early to get ready for the day so he ‘could look nice.’ By the time he was ready Suki was already making breakfast for everyone. Aang walked into the kitchen to smell the sweet smells of food. He sat down at the table examining the kitchen. Soon as food was ready there was a knock on the door. In excitement Aang jumped up, but soon realized what he did and sat down. He still didn’t want anyone to know that he loved Katara.
Suki got up and walked over to the door and opened it far enough that Aang could see who it was. Indeed it was Katara! Aang screamed in his mind, for he was so happy to see her! After a huge hug Suki gave Katara, Suki let her in…and right behind Katara was someone else. That someone else was a...Aang couldn’t bear it…it was so terrible that… ‘Thing’…was…a…boy.
