Agreed, authors don't put in details that aren't in some way relevant. If they made such a point of Katara learning bloodbending, more than likely it will have great importance later on in the series. I'm guessing it has something to do with the final battle; as I do, I am eagerly waiting for the next episode to air online.

I think she will use it on Ty Lee. Sad but true... She has had issues controlling Ty Lee in the past.

i never thought of that. great idea. tylee takes down her opponents form the inisde with pressure points. katara's bloodbending does the same thing. that is an awesome way to even the odds. cool thought.

Thanks. I just feel really bad for Katara though. I mean, Kana forced her into Blood Bending, and she hates it. But then, looking from the other side, she now has a way to stop Ty Lee... I have a feeling that she is going to use it, btu she's not going to be happy about it. Either that or she is so ticked off and wants to win the war so badly, that she drops her morals in hope for something better. ~SheDevil

I don't think there really is such a moral issue with bloodbending. It's not like hympnotism, where you are making people believe that they are something the aren't, or have done something that they haven't. With all the powers and battles of avatar I think blood bending is just a tool, and in some ways much beter than other tools of battle. I mean with bloodbending you can disarm and stop the opponet with out hurting them. Sure, it's a little creepy, but as long as Katara doesn't abuse it like Kana, then I think it is a perfectly moral thing to do, i wish Katara saw it that way.
I believe Katara will use it when Zuko and her are ninjas! Yay ninjas!

But they could be fighting Azula as ninjas! Does no one else tink the ninjas thing is not totally awesome. I mean, i know pirates are better, but for some reason the Avatar world seems to have created non-cheesy ninjas. YAY!

She will use it agaist someone in the SUPA SECRET NINJA MISSION episode, because we have footage of it happening. But after what happened in TBR I'm not sure it will be Ty Lee.
