well this has been in my thoughts: Ozai is a king, a tyrant, but what makes him such a big firebender? is he really so strong? isn't defeating Ozai only defeating part of the problem? the fire nation still has their armies abroad if he dies, and the line of succession would simply mean the next tyrant would sit, with Zuko disinherited, that would be his sister.
and even without a king, the country would still be ruled by people who could continue current practices.
defeating an evil king in my mind, would turn out to be a symbolical act, not much more.
they key is getting the balance back, and that means repopulating the water tribes, ending the corruption in the Earth kingdom, Re-establishing the air-temples of the air nomads, perhaps re-open their trade, and lastly, letting the fire nation come in contact with other culture, to end their indoctrination.
which means that even after defeating the fire nation, the nation should not be allowed to go without defences, because it would only lead others to take their place as world conquering tyrants.

I think that Aang with go into the Avatar State and bend all the Elements together to make a new type of bending to kill Ozai

I also think that Aang is gonna finish him off. Remember Fire Lord Zuko that Zuko didnt want to take down his father because he thought that it wasnt his job but it was the avatar ??
