Yaeh but he regrew it after almost all of it was shved off his head. It was bound to change a little in color, i'm surprised it didin't grow back more curly.

I wouldn't call it his trade mark, he just wouldn't be Zuko without it. Your past experiences help to define who you are. Zuko can't erase what happened nor do i think he wants to anymore. He just wants to move foward as he is.

Exactly. It's not so much he wants to be free of it as he said in the cave, i think then he was just looking for the easy way out. I think in what he is doing now he is confronting it and accepting it.

His skin is darker, thats why.
