It accented her morement. The down hair just kind of hangs there most of the time, thats why i think it gave her a bit of a sad puppy look.

she for some reason looks thinner in it. But the braid made her look different than the other characters. the other makes her look the same as everyone else

Yes, and who cares how thin she looks anyway. Most of the team needs some meat on their bones considering how long they've been traveling.
