Iroh is a fun-loving, non-evil man that was once the great and powerful General Iroh, Dragon of the West.
Book 1: Water
Iroh, during this book, simply laid back and enjoyed life at its state while occasionally helping out Zuko in his 'destiny' of capturing the Avatar for his father's love. Iroh, in Chapter 19 - 20, helps out Zuko by giving him the disguise of a normal Fire Nation Soldier and that he wouldn't be seen by Zhao, so he could then slip by and capture the Avatar. His plan worked, but Iroh was battling Zhao as well, for he had killed one of the two spirits, the moon.
Book 2: Earth
During this period of time, Iroh is considered a traitor to the Fire Nation, and decides that it is best that Zuko learns what he can in order to defeat Azula and, hopefully one day his father as well. Iroh also, during the book two era, tries to persuade Zuko into believing in his own destiny instead of one that someone else is trying to force upon him. While the confusion at the end of book two occured, Iroh became friends with the Avatar and his friends.
Book 3: Fire
Iroh, during this period, is locked up in jail since he was captured at the end of book two. Iroh is very disappointed in Zuko, and soon seems to forgive him, but is last seen breaking out of his jail cell and no where to be found.
