Not sure if he has a thing for Toph or if he knows he has a thing for toph. But when Toph does get her heart broken by Sokka, the Duke might be that outside, non involved, doesn't need to or want to know the details, support that she will need. So in that sense i do support Tuke, but not as an imeadiate thing.

Stop spouting your spoilers. These are facts i do not want to know!
But Sokka would do that regardless of his feelings. Plus he's a reformed Sexist, i think deep down he sees Toph as someone he should protect even though he knows how strong she is. It just the way Sokka is, he feels its his duty to protect girls. And of course he cares about Toph but he has never shown any romantic interest. He has treated her the same as he would treat anyone else in the group. If their realationship is special at all its that he thinks f her as he would a very little sister.

It would be awesome, but kind of sad for Toph seeing as she'ld just fall more in love with Sokka, when he would break her heart.
